Open a saved request#

A saved request stays in its collection until you load it. A click opens it in a tab and links the tab back to the saved entry. Later saves update the same entry instead of a copy.

Open a request in a tab#

Click any request in the Collections tree. If that request is already open, its tab comes to the front. If it is not open, API Client creates a new tab with the request's method, URL, parameters, headers, and body. The new tab links back to the saved entry.

A run does not change what is saved. Only a save does.

What the link keeps in step#

The tab links to its source, so three things stay in step:

• A save updates the saved entry in place instead of a duplicate. See Saving a request.
• Rename on the entry also renames the tab.
• Delete on the entry closes the tab.

If you save under a different name or a different target, the link moves to the new entry.

Open a saved flow#

A saved flow works the same way. Click it, and it opens in a flow tab linked to the saved flow. A rename or a delete on the flow keeps the tab in step. See Flows overview.

Open the same request twice#

A click on a request that is already open activates its existing tab. It does not open a second copy. To work on two versions at once, save one under a different name and open both.
