Install a browser engine#
Add Chromium, WebKit, or Firefox from inside the app so the recorder can drive that browser.
A recording needs at least one browser engine: Chromium, WebKit, or Firefox. One engine is enough to start, and you can add the others later.
Install an engine from the app#
Open the recorder's dependency settings from the Open in Settings button on the environment notice, or from the app settings. The app can install the browser binaries for you: select Chromium, WebKit, or Firefox, and the app downloads and sets up that engine. When the install finishes, the Record trace menu stops marking the matching browser as (N/A), and you can select it.
You need Node.js and the Playwright package in place first, because the installer runs through them. See Browser and environment checks.
If a browser is still missing#
If you launch a browser whose binary is not present, the recorder reports the problem and checks again what is installed, so the menu matches. Install the engine you want, re-check, then launch again.
